Joseph, with Mary his espoused wife who was great with child, went to Bethlehem to be taxed.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

A good man’s speech reveals the rich treasures within him. An evil-hearted man is filled with venom, and his speech reveals it.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In those days Mary got up and went hurriedly into the hill country, to a town of Judah, and entered Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth.  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

“He shall cry unto me, ‘Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.’  Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.”

The birth of Jesus Christ: When his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

When the right time came, the time God decided on, he sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law so that he could adopt us as his very own sons.  And because we are his sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, so now we can rightly speak of God as our dear Father.  Now we are no longer slaves but God’s own sons.  And since we are his sons, everything he has belongs to us, for that is the way God planned.

This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, “The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren.”
